| Obverse description | The obverse features the ornate interlaced royal cipher of Leopold II — a decorative monogram composed of intertwined script letters — centrally positioned in the field and surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. Flanking the cipher are two scrolled ribbon ornaments extending laterally. The circular legend reads LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES, distributed around the periphery, with the date appearing in the lower exergue. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded inner rim running along the full circumference. |
