Obverse description The obverse presents a central allegorical design composed of crossed implements of industry and agriculture — including a cannon, a bundle of arrows, a balance scale, and other tools — bound together at the center and framed by laurel or oak sprigs, evoking republican and civic virtues. The peripheral legend reads REPUBLICA MEXICANA in raised Latin lettering, arcing along the upper rim, while the date 1883 is positioned in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a finely executed beaded border. The field exhibits natural bronze toning with deep brown and reddish hues consistent with the piece's trial nature and age.
