Additional information

Ghana's wildlife-themed currency series has issued coins under Bank of Ghana authority but produced almost entirely for the international collector market — they do not meaningfully circulate domestically. The wolverine is native to boreal and subarctic regions of North America, Scandinavia, and Russia, making its appearance on a Ghanaian coin a straightforward licensing decision rather than any expression of national fauna.

Silver-plated copper-nickel was the deliberate choice here to keep retail price accessible while maintaining visual appeal for the series buyer.
