| Obverse description | The obverse is shaped in the form of the head of Osiris and bears a right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at center, surrounded by a circular legend. The legend reads ELIZABETH II above and 2 CEDIS to the right, with REPUBLIC OF GHANA below the effigy. The Ghana coat of arms appears beneath the portrait. The entire field surrounding the central motif is densely engraved with Egyptian hieroglyphs in low relief, covering the shaped flan. The inscriptions OSIRIS and 2022 appear in the lower portion of the flan, flanked by depictions of the crook and flail, traditional symbols of Osiris. |
