| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square border. The four-character reign legend 熙寧重寶 (Xining Zhongbao) is rendered in elegant seal script (zhuanshu), disposed in cruciform arrangement reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left around the central hole. The characters are boldly raised in relief against a flat inner field, with a wide flat rim encircling the outer field. The overall casting reflects the refined standard of Northern Song imperial minting practice. |
