| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin featuring a central square perforation framed by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese seal script (zhuanshu) ideograms are arranged in clockwise reading order around the central hole, one character positioned at each cardinal point: 隆 (top), 興 (left), 元 (right), 寶 (bottom), composing the reign title legend 隆興元寶 (Longxing Yuanbao). The characters are rendered in the ornate, archaic seal script style characteristic of Southern Song imperial coinage, with bold raised strokes standing in relief against the flat field. A raised outer rim encircles the entire design. |
