Reverse description Plain reverse with a central square perforation surrounded by a raised inner rim and a broad, slightly elevated outer rim. The field is entirely blank, bearing no inscriptions, mint marks, or decorative devices, consistent with standard practice for insurgent cash coinage of this period. The surface displays heavy brown and green patination with areas of encrustation, attesting to considerable age and burial history. The casting is smooth but irregular, reflecting the relatively rudimentary production methods employed during the turbulent late Yuan transitional period.

Additional information

Zhu Yuanzhang struck the Longfeng Tongbao series during his years as a regional warlord operating under the Song restoration banner of Han Lin'er — before he had consolidated enough power to issue coinage in his own name. The "Longfeng" era title belonged to Han Lin'er's puppet regime, meaning this coin technically predates the Ming dynasty by over a decade and reflects a moment of deliberate political subordination Zhu later worked hard to erase from official histories.

The 2 Cash denomination is notably scarcer than the 1 Cash issues of this series. Hartill 19.131 is among the earlier-catalogued varieties of the type.
