| Reverse description | Round cast iron coin with a central square perforation. The reverse bears a two-character inscription arranged vertically around the central hole in regular script (kaishu): 春 (Chun) above the hole and 元 (Yuan) below, indicating the Qichun Mint and the first year of the Jiatai era. The field is otherwise plain, bounded by a raised inner rim surrounding the square hole and a raised outer rim at the coin's edge. |
