| Obverse description | Central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim, with four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) disposed in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left. The characters 嘉定通寶 (Jiading Tongbao) fill the fields between the central rim and the outer raised border. The coin surface shows the characteristic rough texture of an iron cast flan, with the legends remaining legible despite heavy encrustation and oxidation typical of Southern Song iron coinage. |

| Reverse description | Plain reverse field centred on the square perforation with its raised rim, bearing two Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu): one character above the hole and one below. The character 同 (Tong) above denotes the Tong'an Mint, while the character 二 (Er) below indicates year 2 of the Jiading era (1209). The field surface is heavily corroded and encrusted, consistent with the iron composition of Southern Song cash coinage. |
