Reverse description The reverse displays a stylized palm tree rendered in low relief at the center of the field, a motif associated with the Tranquebar colonial issues and emblematic of the tropical Indian setting. The design is crudely executed, with a granular exergual area below the tree. The flan is irregular in shape and thickness, consistent with the hammered technique employed at the Tranquebar mint. The field surrounding the palm device is largely plain, with surface patination and die wear obscuring finer details.
