Obverse description Rectangular hammered gold flan with rounded corners, bordered by a continuous row of raised pellets along the periphery. Two large kiri (paulownia) crests rendered in bold relief occupy the upper and lower halves of the field, separated at the center by the denomination inscription. The kiri motifs are executed in an elaborate, interlaced foliate style characteristic of Edo-period gold coinage, with a prominent central stem and radiating petals. Cursive script characters denoting the value '二分' (2 Bu) are incised in the central field between the two crests.
