Obverse description Central field bears the denomination characters 二分 (Two Bu) in kanji script, arranged vertically within a rectangular cartouche. The cartouche is flanked on either side by naturalistic pine branches with needles and cones rendered in high relief, their stems crossing and tied at the base. Surmounting the composition is a large chrysanthemum flower with radiating petals in full bloom, accompanied by flanking floral sprays, the entire design executed in the hand-engraved style characteristic of late Edo period domain silver currency. The striated background field is produced by the characteristic file-marked surface treatment common to Japanese ginban issues.

Reverse description The reverse bears several authentication stamps applied in intaglio: a domain seal character 會 (Ai, abbreviation for Aizu) stamped in the upper-right area of the field, the character 改 (Kai, meaning 'inspected' or 'revised') stamped centrally to the left, and an official's personal signature or kaohan impressed in the lower-right corner. These stamps and seals served as guarantees of authenticity and weight, consistent with the official certification practice of Edo period domain coinage. The striated background field mirrors the obverse treatment.
