Obverse description Central field bearing the Portuguese royal arms — the quinas shield within a decorative curved cartouche or scroll-like ornamental frame. The shield is rendered in a somewhat crude hammered style consistent with colonial copper coinage of the period. The entire design is enclosed by a border of raised beads. The overall execution is irregular, reflecting the artisanal striking conditions of the Cochim mint.

Reverse description Central field depicting a stylized cross pattée or cross of the Order of Christ, with splayed arms radiating from a central point and decorative elements between the arms, typical of Portuguese colonial copper issues struck at Cochim. The design is contained within a border of raised beads running along the coin's irregular periphery. The hammered flan shows characteristic surface irregularities and patination consistent with a copper coin of this era.
