Additional information

Issued to mark the centennial of the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy, founded by Rama V in 1887 after he sent the first Thai officers to study at European military institutions and recognized the need for formal domestic officer training. The academy became the model for Thailand's modern army officer corps.

The 1987 commemorative program under Rama IX was prolific, and this 2 Baht type shares its specification with several concurrent issues from that year.
