Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George VI, engraved by Percy Metcalfe, centrally positioned within the square flan. The king wears the Imperial State Crown rendered in fine detail. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR', separated by a dot at the base, and is bounded by an inner beaded border and an outer milled rim. Decorative foliate ornaments accent the four corners of the square field.
