Comments

The 2500-franc denomination was an oddity within the BCEAO system — introduced briefly in the early 1990s as a transitional value between the more established 1000 and 5000-franc notes, it never achieved meaningful circulation penetration across the eight member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union. The suffix "T" in the Pick reference designates it as a specimen or trial type, which itself tells you something about how seriously this denomination was ultimately taken.

Alassane Ouattara's signature appears across all three year-dates — he served as BCEAO Governor before his 1990 appointment as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire, a detail that gives this short-lived series an unusually concentrated political biography.
