Esch-sur-Sûre dam, completed in 1961, created the Upper Sûre reservoir that now supplies roughly 70% of Luxembourg's drinking water. The bimetallic format here follows the French collector series format Paris has used for years — but the underlying subject is strictly Luxembourgish infrastructure, issued under the Monnaie de Paris's longstanding agreements to produce coins for smaller states without their own striking facilities.
