| Obverse description | The obverse displays the heraldic arms of the Central Bank of Malta in high relief at centre, comprising a quartered shield supported by two armoured knights in full plate armour, each bearing a lance, with an elaborate crest surmounted by a mural crown above. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto legend FIDUCIA FORTIS, flanked by the founding year 1968. The circular legend CENTRAL BANK OF MALTA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2022 appears in the lower field. The design is rendered against a deeply polished field with a beaded inner border. |
