| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Portuguese colonial arms of São Tomé and Príncipe, composed of the Portuguese shield superimposed upon an armillary sphere rendered as a globular framework with meridian and equatorial bands. The royal mural crown surmounts the shield at the top. The circular legend reads S·TOMÉ·E·PRÍNCIPE around the upper periphery, with the denomination 2$50 displayed across the lower field, flanked by small floral ornaments. A beaded inner border frames the entire design. |
