| Obverse description | Draped bust of Elector Frederick III of Brandenburg to the right, depicted in armored or robed attire. The effigy is poorly rendered, consistent with a cast contemporary counterfeit struck from crude dies or a cast mold. The peripheral Latin legend reads FRIDER·III·D·G·M·B·S·R·I·ARC&EL·, abbreviating his titles as Margrave of Brandenburg, Arch-Chancellor and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The fields show significant porosity and surface deterioration characteristic of base-metal cast forgeries. |
