The three legs of the tripod are clearly articulated, terminating in stylized leonine claws at the base. The legend KP appears in the field to either side of the tripod, representing the ethnic abbreviation of Kroton in Greek characters. |

| Reverse description | Eagle depicted standing to left or right with wings folded and head turned back over its shoulder, a device long associated with Kroton and its Achaean heritage. Two annulets and a crescent are disposed around the bird in the field, serving as subsidiary symbols. The design is rendered in the compact, summary style typical of small-denomination hammered silver coinage of Magna Graecia in the early Hellenistic period. |
