Additional information

The 2½ Tamlung denomination sits in an awkward denominational slot that saw limited practical circulation, which explains why surviving examples in any condition are rarely encountered. Queen Debsirindra — consort of Rama IV and mother of Rama V — had died in 1861, two decades before this issue, making this a posthumous commemorative struck under her son's reign rather than a coin honoring a living queen.

At 154 grams, production costs alone restricted output severely. C#190 is among the heavier silver issues of the Bangkok period.
