Malta's "Euro Pride" issue commemorates the annual LGBTQ+ Pride events held on the island, part of a broader Maltese government policy that has positioned the country as one of the more progressive jurisdictions in the EU on equality legislation — Malta ranked first in Europe on the ILGA-Europe Rainbow Index for several consecutive years following sweeping legal reforms enacted from 2014 onward.
