| Obverse description | Pink and green Notgeld note with a decorative foliate border enclosing a light pink floral underprint. The denomination 'Zwei Millionen Mark' is set in large blackletter script at centre, above the date 'Gelsenkirchen, den 22. August 1923' and the authorisation clause. Two official circular seals — one for the Stadt Gelsenkirchen bearing a church vignette, one for the Landkreis bearing an eagle — are placed centrally in the lower portion, flanked by two manuscript signatures above their respective authority titles; the serial number appears at upper right and the denomination figure '2000000' runs vertically along the right margin. |
