Obverse description Standing allegorical figure of Germania in classical robes, holding a sword and leaning against a tree stump in the central field. To her left, a heraldic eagle is depicted before a cityscape with the Paulskirche, and to her right, a rifle and shooting target rest against the stump with additional Frankfurt architecture in the background. The engraver's signature DRENTWETT D. SEBALD. F. appears in the lower exergue, with a curved German-language legend filling the upper field.

Reverse description A detailed view of the festival hall (Festhalle) adorned with numerous flags occupies the upper central field, rendered in fine engraved relief. Below the hall, a decorative cartouche of scrolling acanthus surrounds a shield bearing a double-headed eagle. A circular legend runs along the border, with FRANKFURT and the date 1862 appearing in the lower portion.
