| Additional information |
Fantasy strikes of Weimar-era denominations circulated heavily among a certain tier of the coin market in the 1970s and 1980s, produced by private mints with no governmental authorization and no connection to the original issues. The genuine 1932 five mark pieces were struck in silver under the Weimar Republic during its final, politically convulsive months. This piece shares neither their authority nor their metal.
