Obverse description Facing laureate head of Apollo rendered in a somewhat archaic Hellenistic style, with wavy hair bound by a laurel wreath and large, forward-gazing eyes. The portrait occupies the central field and is depicted frontally, an unusual orientation for this deity, evoking cult-image representations. The neck is partially visible below the chin, and the overall style is consistent with Hellenistic civic bronze coinage of the Troad region.
