Sadeq Khan Zand ruled as one of the more capable but ultimately doomed figures of the Zand dynasty, holding Shiraz against Qajar pressure until his execution in 1782 — meaning this coin's window of issue was measured in months, not years. The Zand mints produced fractional gold in quantities far below their silver output, and the 1/8 mohur denomination was never a workhorse of daily commerce.
