Reverse description Quartered heraldic shield displaying the arms of Brandenburg-Prussia: the upper quarters bear the black Hohenzollern eagle of Brandenburg, while the lower quarters display the lion of Silesia or a comparable territorial claim. The shield is surmounted by an electoral hat and enclosed within a rope-beaded inner border. The date appears divided on either side of the shield. The surrounding Latin legend, reading MON NOV ARG PRUSS with additional territorial abbreviations, identifies this as a new silver coinage of Prussia, with the denomination implicit in the design.
