Obverse description The obverse field is entirely occupied by a three-line Greek inscription in large, bold letters reading ΒΑϹΙΛ / ΘΕΑ / ΝΕ, an abbreviation for 'queen, new goddess,' a title associated with Cleopatra VII. The lettering is rendered in a plain, monumental style typical of late Hellenistic provincial bronze coinage, with no figurative devices or border ornament. The flan is irregular and exhibits characteristic hammered fabric with uneven surfaces and slight flan cracks at the edges.
