| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold half-length portrait bust of Prof. Dr. Erasmus Kittler in high relief, facing slightly to the right, depicted in period dress. Surrounding inscriptions in the field record his birth and death dates and places, his name, academic title, and the chair of electrical engineering he held at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt from 1882. The legend 'PIONIER DER ELEKTROTECHNIK' arcs along the upper rim, and the issuing coin club 'MÜNZFREUNDE DARMSTADT 1962 E.V.' appears along the lower rim.
