Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo or Artemis facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style characteristic of Pontic civic coinage of the late second century BC. The hair is arranged in loose waves beneath the laurel wreath, with fine strands falling at the nape of the neck. The facial features, though worn, retain a youthful idealized quality typical of divine portraiture from this mint. The field is plain, with no visible inscription on this side.
