Obverse description Bearded male head facing right, rendered in a bold, somewhat worn style typical of late Hellenistic civic bronze coinage of Ionia. The face displays heavy, rounded features with a broad nose and thick beard composed of flowing curls. The hair is rendered in loose waves swept back from the forehead. Reverse description Swan standing left with wings raised, the characteristic civic badge of Klazomenai, rendered in a schematic but recognizable style. The legend ΚΛΑΖΟ / ΜΕΝΙΩΝ is arranged in two lines in the field to either side of the device, reading the ethnic of the city in the genitive plural. The overall composition is typical of Klazomenian civic bronze issues of the Hellenistic period.
