| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of King João V rendered in high relief in the Baroque style, with elaborate curled periwig flowing to the neck truncation. The circumferential legend IOANNES. V. D. G. PORT. ET. ALG. REX. runs along the upper and left periphery within a beaded border. The Bahia mint mark 'B' and the date appear prominently in the lower field beneath the bust truncation. The portrait displays strong, sculptural modeling characteristic of early eighteenth-century Portuguese colonial coinage. |

| Reverse description | The Portuguese royal coat of arms is displayed centrally, featuring the traditional escutcheon with the five quinas arranged in cross formation, each charged with five silver roundels, all set within an ornate Baroque cartouche with elaborate foliate and scroll mantling extending to the coin's periphery. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown of bulbous form with jeweled arches. No peripheral legend is present; the entire reverse field is consumed by the richly detailed armorial composition rendered within a beaded border. |
