| Obverse description | Wreathed head of Dionysos facing right, the deity's hair rendered in loose, flowing locks bound by a ivy wreath. A thyrsos — the characteristic staff of Dionysos — rises over the left shoulder, visible in the upper field. The portrait is rendered in a robust Apulian Greek style with strong facial modeling characteristic of the late Classical to early Hellenistic period. |
