Obverse description A prancing horse leaping left over a grassy mound, the traditional heraldic device of the Kingdom of Hannover, rendered in high relief within the central field. A circular legend surrounds the device, reading ET BRITAN REX F MARK in the lower portion and GEORGIUS IV D G HANNOV REX in the upper portion. The mintmaster's initials appear in the exergue below the horse.
