Additional information

Side was a major port city on the Pamphylian coast whose civic bronze issues circulated across a long autonomous period before Roman provincial absorption. The BMC variant notation here is significant — the "var." designation against entries 71–72 suggests a die combination or subsidiary symbol not fully catalogued in that corpus, which is common in Side's prolific civic bronze output where magistrate names and control marks shift frequently across otherwise identical types.
