Obverse description The coat of arms of the canton of Vaud in high relief at center, bearing the motto LIBERTE ET PATRIE on the shield, surmounted by a Swiss cross. The dates 1803-1953 appear between the cross and the shield. A circular legend runs along the rim, with the mint mark B and engraver's initials MM at the bottom of the field.
