| Obverse description | Central view of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (Qinian Dian) at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, rendered in high relief against a polished field. The iconic triple-gabled circular structure is depicted with fine architectural detail including its tiered blue-glazed roof and surrounding marble terrace. The Chinese Gold Panda series abandoned its long-standing fixed weight denominations in 2016, switching from troy ounce-based weights to metric gram weights — a deliberate policy shift by the People's Bank of China that affected the entire annual series. The 100g piece replaced the previous 10 oz format, which had itself been a rarity within the series.
Mintage figures for the 100g denomination are not publicly disclosed by the PBC, but independent market tracking consistently places annual production in the low thousands.
