The composition, engraved by Michael Rizzello, is rendered in fine sculptural detail against a deeply mirrored background. The upper legend arcing around the periphery reads SHILINGI ELFU MOJA NA MIA TANO, the Swahili denomination inscription, while the numeral 1500 appears in large characters at the base of the design, flanked by two raised dots.
