| Reverse description | Central field depicts a detailed frontal view of the Treasury of Petra (Al-Khazneh), the iconic rock-cut facade carved into the rose-red sandstone cliff face of ancient Petra, Jordan, rendered in high relief against a plain gold field. The date '2007' appears within the design. The upper arc of the legend reads 'LA VILLE DE ROCHER DE PÉTRA' flanked by decorative star devices, while the lower legend reads 'MERVEILLES DU MONDE MODERNE', all in raised Latin lettering along the periphery. |

| Additional information |
The BCEAO issues commemorative gold miniatures under a licensing arrangement that has nothing to do with the monetary needs of its eight member states — these are sold directly to collectors, primarily through European distributors, and never circulate. The Petra issue is one of a series of world-heritage themed pieces struck in this format, produced almost certainly at a European private mint rather than any facility in the franc zone itself.
