The Hanging Gardens of Babylon have no confirmed archaeological record — ancient sources describe them, but no excavation of Babylon has conclusively identified their site, leading some scholars to argue they may have been located in Nineveh instead. Ivory Coast's entry into the small-gold commemorative market in the mid-2000s was part of a broader West African CFA-zone trend of issuing collector pieces bearing no relationship to national history, produced almost exclusively for the European numismatic market.
