Obverse description The coat of arms of the Togolese Republic occupies the central field, depicting two rampant lions flanking a central shield bearing the monogram 'RT', surmounted by two crossed national flags each bearing a star, with three scroll banners inscribed TRAVAIL, LIBERTE, and PATRIE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE runs along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the denomination 1500 FRANCS CFA is inscribed along the lower periphery. The entire design is framed by a beaded border, and the coin is struck with an antique finish imparting a matte, aged appearance to the relief.
