Cameroon's "6th Commandment" coin is part of a sprawling series of small-denomination gold pieces issued under the Central African Economic and Monetary Community framework, largely marketed to European collectors rather than circulated domestically. These issues are struck in minimal quantities by overseas minting contractors and have no meaningful monetary function in Cameroon itself.

At 0.5 g of 14-karat gold, the actual precious metal content is negligible — roughly a third of a troy grain.
