| Obverse description | Within the central rectangular panel of the fan-shaped flan, the national emblem of the People's Republic of China is depicted, featuring Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars, flanked by ears of grain and a cogwheel at the base. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) is inscribed vertically along the left border of the fan field. Decorative floral and scrollwork motifs fill the remaining areas of the fan-shaped field on either side of the central panel. |
