Additional information

Issued to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, founder of the Gaudiya Math and the figure most directly responsible for spreading Vaishnava practice beyond the Indian subcontinent in the early twentieth century. His network of 64 matha institutions across India and his confrontational rejection of hereditary caste-based religious authority made him a polarizing and genuinely transformative figure in modern Hinduism.

India's commemorative silver program has long favored a .500 fineness quaternary alloy over sterling — a cost-containment decision that keeps these issues accessible but places them firmly outside serious bullion consideration.
