Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed engraved scene commemorating the First Russian Antarctic Expedition of 1819–1821. In the upper field, an outline map of Antarctica is depicted, with a compass rose superimposed upon it. The central field shows two full-rigged sailing vessels — the sloops Vostok and Mirny — navigating Antarctic waters amid ice floes, rendered with fine engraved detail. In the lower foreground, a rocky ice shelf is shown with a group of penguins standing upon it, and a small rowing boat is visible to the left. The legend 'ПЕРВАЯ РУССКАЯ АНТАРКТИЧЕСКАЯ ЭКСПЕДИЦИЯ 1819•1821' arcs along the upper border, while 'В АНТАРКТИЧЕСКИХ ВОДАХ' is inscribed along the lower arc.
