Reverse description The reverse presents a large, boldly rendered football (soccer ball) in high relief, filling virtually the entire field, with stylised decorative wave motifs incorporated into the panel design of the ball, evoking the dynamic spirit of the tournament. A circular legend inscribed along the upper border reads 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in English (right side, reading clockwise) and 2010. FIFA SVJETSKO PRVENSTVO JUŽNA AFRIKA in Croatian (left side, reading counter-clockwise). The trademark designation TM appears at lower right of the legend.

Additional information

Croatia qualified for every FIFA World Cup from 1998 through 2006 but failed to reach the 2010 South Africa tournament, finishing third in their European qualifying group behind England and Ukraine. The commemorative was issued regardless — Croatia's mint program has never required on-field participation as a condition for issuing tournament coinage.
