Reverse description A full-length standing figure of Wilhelm Tell, bearded and clad in medieval Alpine dress, is depicted facing the viewer with his crossbow resting over his right shoulder. His young son stands at his left side, embracing his father's waist and gazing upward. The composition is set against a highly polished mirror field, with the individual letters of the legend WILHELM TELL arranged in an arc around the periphery of the coin, interspersed with dot stops, within a beaded border. The rendering of the figures is detailed and sculptural, consistent with the frosted proof technique.
