| Reverse description | A boldly rendered bighorn ram stands in profile facing left atop a rocky outcropping, its massive curved horns prominent and its fleece rendered with stylised swirling detail. To the left of the central device, the Chinese character 羊 (yang, meaning sheep or goat) is displayed in a large, elegant script. A stylised bare-branched tree rises in the upper right field, evoking a traditional East Asian landscape aesthetic. The legend CANADA 2015 arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 150 DOLLARS appears in the lower field, with the engraver's initials AC incuse on the rocky base. |

Canada's 18-karat gold lunar series targeted the overseas Chinese-Canadian collector market directly, a demographic the Royal Canadian Mint pursued aggressively through the 2010s with dedicated distribution partnerships in Hong Kong and mainland China. The 2015 Sheep issue falls in the middle of that commercial push.
The .750 fineness is atypical for RCM bullion, chosen deliberately to match the karat standard preferred by East Asian buyers rather than the .9999 purity of the Maple Leaf program.
